About

Leah Brown is a writer, artist, teacher and climber.

I have been writing books my whole life. I would illustrate books and dictate them to my dad to caption, before I could read. I won a creative writing contest at my school every year from 2nd to 12th grade. I wrote my first curriculum for TUTORWORKS in 2022. I self-published my first book in 2023. I write because stories are the fabric of life and my stories are threads. I share because we are the loom that weaves a beautiful tapestry of consciousness. I hope to inspire you with my stories to weave beautiful stories for yourself.

I received my Bachelors of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from Texas Tech University in 2014. Painting often holds the stories I have no words for. They often express the feelings I can’t.

I have been teaching for 17 years. I started teaching in an after-school program when I was 15 years old. I volunteered in elementary, junior high and high schools throughout college. After college, I taught yoga and art. In 2016 I moved to South Korea and taught English at an immersion kindergarten. From there I taught English online, in classes, at English First in San Diego. I currently write curriculums and teach reading and creative writing to children. Sharing the power of language, a passion for reading and creative writing are my life objectives.

I have been climbing for 7 years. For me, climbing is a spiritual practice of meeting my fears, my self-imposed limitations and moving through them with grace. I am continually brought to a place of dedication from the practice. I am inspired by the community, the movements, the flow state it brings, the rocks and the wide open skies.
